ABOUT US
SpiseTid - Helping Children Thrive

My name is Rebecca Marie-Wall Friedemann and I am the owner of SpiseTid: Feeding, Sensory and Developmental Services for children. I am fluent in English and currently at B2 level in reading, and B1+ in listening, writing, and speaking in Norwegian, soon to be at B2 level in all.
I am dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and youth facing difficulties in the areas of feeding, sensory integration and processing, and development. I am a USA Board certified doctor of occupational therapy with a sensory integration background and a specialization in the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of feeding and swallowing difficulties including but not limited to dysphagia, sensory difficulties, oral motor strength, and control and others. I earned my doctorate of occupational therapy degree from Nova Southeaster University in the USA and practiced for many years in Los Angeles, California, growing into a supervisor role at one of the largest non profic clinics in Los Angeles prior to moving here to Norway. I moved to Norway in January 2023 with my Norwegian husband and learned of the lack of pediatric services here in Oslo. I immediately knew I needed to start SpiseTid to help children and families have the services they need to have every opportunity possible to enjoy their daily lives in the home and community.
I understand the importance of individualized care for children and with that each therapy session, treatment plan and educational discussion will be personalized to each child and family. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and every child CAN thrive...some just may need a little extra support at the start of their lives to do so...and thats where I come in!
My mission is to help provide individualized, evidence based therapeutic treatment to help children and families here in Oslo reach their full potential in all areas of their lives. Therapy, mealtime, development, and sensory experiences should be fun and enjoyable, not stressful or frightening, and with therapeutic interventions, and parent collaboration and education, I strive to deliver comprehensive services that empower children to reach their milestones and goals. With lessened stress, improved understanding of your child's sensory system, and improved ability to identify the reasoning behind some of your child's difficulties, we can help create a clear path forward in your child's development,
Contact me today to schedule a phone consultation, initial evaluation or to learn more about our services.
No question is off limits here.

OUR APPROACH
Wellbeing Through Development
At Spisetid, we are dedicated to enhancing the overall wellbeing of children through our specialized services. Children require novel, always changing challenges in order to maintain engagement, attention, and develop growth. Children also learn best through play, and evidence based, play based therapy is our focus at Spisetid. Children do not learn like adults, children learn through play, imitation, collaboration, and being provided the opportunity to make decisions themselves when available. If we wish to inprove handwriting, writing letters will not cover it, we need to focus on hand strength, fine motor skills, spatial orientation, body awareness, sensory awareness, etc. Each unique skills requires a multitude of skills to complete prior to the successful completion of the desired skills. In another example, if your child is unable to touch the food that is being presented to eat, they will not be able to eat it. If a child is not able to engage in seated preferred activities, they should not be expected to sit for non preferred mealtimes. And if a child is having difficulties with meeting overall developmental milestones, all of the factors that could be affecting this need to be considered.
We focus on approaching each child on an individual bases, meeting them where they are at, an providing the just right challenge to consistently improve their skills, making a positive impact on their lives and improving their ability to engage with their daily environments.
